Why This Movement Exists
The YEAH (Youth Empowerment through Advocacy for Health) Toolkit was founded by Anam Hanif, a rising junior in high school, with one simple belief: young people deserve a voice in shaping the future of public health.

After exploring public health through coursework in school, volunteering, and community involvement, Anam realized that many students just like her were passionate about issues like mental health, women’s health research, health equity, disease prevention, and access to quality healthcare, but few knew how to advocate for the changes they want to see. While opportunities to make a difference exist, the resources that teach young people like her how to engage in advocacy were limited.
Anam created the YEAH Toolkit to bridge that gap. The movement provides free educational resources and practical advocacy toolkits that teach students how to raise awareness, contact elected officials, engage with their communities, and take meaningful action on the public health issues they care about.
YEAH exists to empower the next generation of changemakers by showing that age should never be a barrier to creating impact. Every student has the potential to influence policy, inspire others, and improve the health and well-being of their community. Through education, advocacy, and civic engagement, the YEAH Toolkit Movement is building a generation of informed young leaders who are ready to turn their voices into action.
